CORPUS CHRISTI MUSEUM OF SCIENCE & HISTORY
HALL OF CULTURAL ENCOUNTERS
This was an addition to the Corpus Christi Museum of Science & History to house a 15th
century carved wood dome ceiling. The ceiling was acquired by the museum to supplement
the strong program of Spanish and French colonial history, including the Seeds of Change
Smithsonian exhibit, the Columbus Fleet of Spanish replica ships, the 16th century
Shipwreck! artifacts, and the collection of artifacts from the recovered LaSalle ship
La Belle. In addition to customary museum-related systems such as lighting, humidity,
and security systems, the project included Spanish tile, carved Mexican limestone, and
custom millwork.
